Having broken through for a maiden victory at the highest level of Australian racing last time out, Driefontein is currently outright favourite in betting markets for success in the 2014 The Goodwood, offered at generous $7 odds.

Claiming an impressive total of eight wins and five places from her 24 career starts to date, Driefontein has without doubt his career-best form over her current preparation; winning the Group 3 Sharaco Stakes (1200m) first-up and continuing to build in form and class in finishing fifth in the well-contested Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) and winning the Group 3 Irwin Stakes (1100m) prior to her triumph in the Group 1 Robert Sangster Classic (1200m) last time out.

Allocated the ideal barrier 3, Driefontein’s chances of success this weekend’s took a huge boost when in-form jockey Vlad Duric was confirmed to retain the ride in The Goodwood.

Winner of the 2013 edition of The Goodwood after also claiming the Robert Sangster, Platelet is yet to receive much more than a sprinkling of wagers for success this weekend, but is still offered as tied second favourite for success in the 2014 The Goodwood with Miracles Of Life at a quote of $7.50.

Returning to the track in typically strong form this season, the Strategic mare comfortably won the 55 Second Handicap (955m) first-up before finishing second to Driefontein in both the Irwin Stakes and Robert Sangster most recently.

Charged with the task of overcoming the awkward barrier 17, Platelet will be partnered by jockey Brad Rawiller and offers punters exceptional value for money, particularly in considering experience.

The star of trainer Daniel Clarken’s stable, Miracles Of Life has been confirmed to be sold off by owner Teeley Assets following the 2014 The Goodwood and is in line for a memorable swansong this weekend.

Completing a perfect record of four wins from as many starts over her maiden preparation which included the major Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) crown, Miracles Of Life has continued to build in experience over seven proceeding starts.

Returning to racing with a reasonable run for sixth in the Listed Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) first-up this season, the Not A Single Doubt filly was unlucky to finish second in both the Listed Manihi Classic (1050m) and Listed Redelva Open (1050m) before returning to the winner’s circle with an impressive two length victory in the Group 2 Euclase Stakes (1200m) last time out.

Allocated the ideal barrier 2, talented jockey Dean Yendall has been confirmed to retain the ride on Miracles Of Life this weekend, and is well and truly worth wager at current odds, particularly in offering $2.60 for a place.
